Local planning Fix the handover point before anything else
Tridente, Trastevere and the Centro Storico sit inside strict ZTL cameras, so the hotel or residence used for handover should lie outside the zone, or the keys should change hands at an airport terminal instead. Around Easter and major Vatican events, centro access is restricted and an airport handover is the safer choice. Name your hotel early, since its location decides the rest.
Count the separate movements
A wedding rarely needs a single journey. List each time people have to move: getting ready to ceremony, ceremony to reception, family to the venue, couple onward at night. Some of these can share a car and some cannot, and the answer depends on the cars available for your date, so a clear list makes the conversation faster.
Dress, hair and the cabin
Check three things before you pick a vehicle: how the bride or guests will step in and out in formal clothing, whether a long train or veil needs space beside the seat, and how many people really need to sit together. A low coupé may be right for two and wrong for four, and a saloon may beat a convertible for anyone in a full dress.
When the wedding leaves Rome
Frascati is 20 km away, Tivoli 30 km, Orvieto 120 km. Each distance suits a different car, and the road briefing from a local driver is worth more on the longer runs toward Orvieto or the Tuscan border than on a short hop. Be realistic about Amalfi: it is 250+ km away, a demanding drive, and an overnight stay is preferable to a same-day return.
